Hung on the back wall is a non-subliminal message - "HOPE", then the choir and drummer, and across the front there's harp to horn to theremin (that weird electric hand movement thing), as well as the more usual.
I wonder if, with so many sounds about to come from the stage, the music will be a jumbled mess. But my fears are unfounded as, after a harp intro, the band start up and begin to carry the audience to their land of hope.
All of the many members look like they've been on the happy juice, and their smiles are infectious - it's not only the music that's uplifting. But Tim DeLaughter works the crowd anyway, making us also feel the warm sun that his smile shows him feeling on his face.
The infectious enthusiasm doesn't wane, and the violent head shaking of the choir is done with a real feeling of belief - in some ways this is more a religious experience than just music. I'm left feeling uplifted, and am more than satisfied when they've finish; I leave with a smile firmly fixed on my face.
