Rancid

Rancid are without a doubt one of the best punk bands currently touring, unlike some other bands that are just money grabbing imitators. Their recent album ‘Indestructible’ demonstrated that they still have plenty of fight in them and are not ready to vacate the punk throne just yet.

These Californian punk rockers opened their show with ‘Ruby Soho’, which caused the audience to turn into a mass of moshing punk rockers, if ever there was a venue that was suited to Rancid, then rock city would be it. Rancid seemed to be right at home whilst playing in this type of venue.


Surprisingly Rancid only played a couple of tracks from their current album ‘Indestructible’, which went down well with the crowd, however it was the classic punk anthems such as ‘Fall Back Down’ and ‘Hyena’ which really whipped the crowd into a frenzy.

Tim Armstrong (singer) roams the stage with such attitude that he would give Kelly Osbourne a good run for her money. Lars Frederiksen (guitarist) demonstrated that he is able to entertain the crowd without the rest of the band members by doing a solo spot. Even Matt Freeman (Bass) had a little solo spot to demonstrate his bass playing prowess.



Rancid seem to be liked by all types of people, their audience consisted of hardcore punk rockers, skater dudes, rock fans, Goths, skinheads, old people and young people, this was certainly a sight worth seeing.

Rancid put on an excellent show, everyone left pouring in sweat, what more could you ask for?
