Six months on and Feeder decided to do a mammoth UK tour. Every venue sold out instantly. Fortunately eFestivals were invited to see them play in Cambridge.
Chants of "Feeder! Feeder!" preceded the Welsh trio's arrival. Feeder started with 'Helium', this made the crowd go crazy, and people were tumbling and rolling everywhere. By the end of 'Helium' everyone was pouring in sweat, I was hoping that Feeder would slow down so that we could cool down. They ploughed through most of their up-beat hits, which kept the crowd pouring in sweat.
Feeder played most of the crowd favourites like 'Turn', 'My Perfect Day', 'Rewind'. Then finally just as I was on the verge of dehydrating they played 'Forget About Tomorrow' which slowed the pace down dramatically and gave me a chance to get something to drink. Once I'd cooled down, Feeder blasted into 'Buck Rogers'. This was a huge shock to the system because I thought that they'd save it for the encore.
Like all good things, it must end somewhere, and Feeder ended the set with 'Moonshine'. Then something really strange happened, the crowd didn't seem to be cheering for an encore, they had to be coaxed into cheering by some hardcore fans right at the front. This must have been disheartening for Feeder, but they came back to do an encore. They played 'High' which managed to turn the crowd into frenzied psychopaths, jumping, kicking, punching, head butting and elbowing whoever was standing closest. Maybe they should have ended the encore with 'High' as that would have summed up exactly how the audience were feeling. However they played 'Just Another Day' and another track, which I'm sure was off the game Gran Turismo! They waved goodbye and left the audience feeling fulfilled.
This was an exceptional gig. No one can deny that Feeder write very infectious tracks, and this comes across extremely well live.
