George Clinton And Funkadelic/Parliament at WOMAD 2016
Funk pioneer George Clinton bids goodbye to the UK with a series of special farewell concerts with Parliament Funkadelic, marking the end of a 50 plus year career funkin' around the world.
George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic revolutionized R&B during the '70s, twisting soul music into funk by adding influences from several late-'60s acid heroes: Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, and Sly Stone.
Alongside icons such as James Brown and Sly Stone, George Clinton is synonymous with defining a genre, creating a music movement which is as important now as its inception in the 1970s.
