For the third year Frank Turner and friends to play exclusive one-off Christmas gig at Islington's Union Chapel in aid of Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity.
Frank will take to the stage with a very special line-up curated by himself in support of the charity's emergency appeal to help the 100,000 children homeless and living in temporary accommodation this Christmas. He'll be joined by newcomer Lewis Bootle and guitarist singer-songwriter Ben Marwood. Ben will be performing publically for the first time in almost 18 months after taking a break from the stage for health reasons.
Frank Turner said, "I couldn't be prouder to be performing again for Shelter. No child should be homeless, so it's heart-breaking to know that while many of us will be spending Christmas in a safe, warm home, thousands of children will be facing a very different reality.
"Having supported Shelter for several years, I know how hard they work to help families on the brink of homelessness with no-where else to turn. I want to do something with my fans to help make sure they can continue to be there for everyone who needs them.”
Campbell Robb, Shelter's chief executive added, "We're thrilled that Frank Turner will be supporting Shelter again. As more and more families struggle to keep a roof over their heads, it's never been more important for us to be there for them, but sadly our advisers are struggling to keep up with demand.
"It's going to be a really special evening, which will help raise the vital funds we need to make sure that no-one has to fight homelessness on their own this Christmas."
900 tickets are available for the performance, each priced at £30, which will be allocated via ballot. To enter the ballot, text SHELTER to 70444. The deadline is noon on Thursday 3rd December and successful applicants will be notified from 10am, 4 December.
All of the money raised will go directly to Shelter. The charity's helpline is open every day of the year – including Christmas Day – with its advisers working tirelessly to support families across the country battling to keep a roof over their heads.
