It's full of dubstep and breaks, and having whipped the crowd into a frenzy he leaves the stage 15 minutes before Example's arrival, leaving DJ BallerB just enough time to drop 'The Harlem Shake' and send the arena insane before the main man takes his place centre stage.
Example takes to the stage amid the screams from the predominantly young crowd, and instantly delivers a barrage of his signature hits.
Hitting the crowd with 'Kickstarts' and 'Won't Go Quietly' the arena erupts into a full on Monday rave, with his backing 3 piece band giving a rich punchy sound, Example swaggers round his stage with all the confidence in the world. He has a strong connection with the crowd and wears a huge grin, it's obvious he is very much a natural show man, and his bookings as the headline act this summer seem very justified.
I have only seen him a few times but he is definitely improving his show every time, keeping the crowd with him all night, even through the less familiar newer songs, which can often prove a stumbling point. I personally had forgotten how many catchy tracks Example has racked up over the last few years, but they just kept coming. My particular highlight of the night proving to be the back to back delivery of 'Watch The Sun Come Up' and 'We'll Be Coming Back' all accompanied by a stunning light show and some huge pyrotechnics.
Example pulls out all the stops tonight, and it's clear to see he is aiming this tour at preparing for headline shows for the summer. A great choice of set list sees the evening shoot by, in what seemed like the blink of an eye. Example brings the night to a close with the mighty earworm that is 'You Changed The Way You Kissed Me' supplemented by a barrage of big pyros and streamers, everyone leaves the arena still singing along to the last number, smiling after a great show. What a great start to the week!
