Bestival Benefit at Nation announced

a fundraising event for those affected by fatal coach crash

news: Friday 4th January 2013

As a tribute to those involved in the coach crash on the return journey from Bestival 2012, organisers are holding a one-off night of music on Saturday 30th March 2013 at Nation, in Liverpool as a fundraising event.

In September last year there was a fatal coach crash involving Bestival-goers returning from the event. After extensive consultation with those affected and as a tribute to everyone involved, Bestival have announced a very special charity night 'Bestival Benefit'.

Festival organiser Rob da Bank said, "Bestival HQ and everyone connected to Bestival 2012 were devastated by what happened after our festival on the A3. We've been working to get an event set up to show some love and hopefully raise lots of money for those affected and their families and we're pleased it's in the home town of many of those involved; Liverpool. Thanks to everyone who has rallied round and contributed to making this event happen – everyone from the DJs and live bands to the venue Nation are donating their time and services for free so please get the date in your diary and prepare to party for a very good cause. See you on the dancefloor."

Michael Molloy, Kerry Ogden and coach driver Colin Daulby died in the tragic accident, Zach Washington-Young suffered life-changing injuries and many others involved were also affected. This event will pay tribute to them, and raise as much money for charity as possible.

The fundraising show will be hosted by Rob da Bank and the Cuban Brothers and a line-up including local Liverpool guests will be released at a later date.

Tickets are on sale now priced at £15. To buy tickets, click here.
