The Teenage Cancer Trust Gigs headliners announced

Pulp, Jessie J, Example, Florence + The Machine

news: Monday 20th February 2012

Pulp, Jessie J, Example, and Florence + The Machine have been confirmed as the first acts to be performing at The Royal Albert Hall for Teenage Cancer Trust in March and April. Each year the concerts sell out in record time and raise vital funds for the charity.

Next month's shows will feature two of this year's Brit Awards nominated female acts, Jessie J and Florence + the Machine. Dubstep pioneer, Example, the Teenage Cancer Trust Outstanding Contribution To Music NME Award winners, Pulp and funny man Jason Manford plus special guests will also beheadlining the comedy evening. Support acts will be announced soon.

The TCT gigs were the brainchild of The Who's Roger Daltrey CBE, patron and curator of Teenage Cancer Trust, who has once again persuaded the best of British talent available across the rock, and pop to give up their time to raise money for this unique charity. He said of the shows, "Every year my team and I work really hard to make these concerts for Teenage Cancer Trust something special. This year is no exception and the line-up of artists donating their time and talent is incredible. I hope there is something for everyone. I'm proud to be a patron of Teenage Cancer Trust. I've been involved for nearly 20 years and this is the twelfth year we've staged these shows. I might be a rock star but I'm also a dad. I know teenagers aren't children and they are certainly not quite adults either. They are a group all on their own and they need to be recognised as that."

The gigs Teenage Cancer Trust have over the last 11 years raised over £14 million for the Teenage Cancer Trust, with all funds going towards building specialist cancer units in NHS hospitals.

The 2012 Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall line-up is as follows:

Fri 30 March – Example
Sat 31 March – Pulp
Sun 01 April - Jessie J Mon 02 April – Comedy night: Jason Manford
Tue 03 April – Florence + The Machine

Tickets will go on sale from 9.30am on Friday 24th February priced at £25, and eGigs will have links to buy them then.
