Noah And The Whale / Being There

When arriving at Southampton Guildhall you are greeted with the queues of fans waiting in their hundreds for the doors to open with over two hours to wait just to make sure that they got the best view of the band. When inside fans were running to the front of the stage and taking their place for the long wait. The venue soon filled up to the 1,577 sold out capacity that was expected.

After the long wait the support act took to the stage and introduced themselves as Being There a young band in their late teens early twenties, They started their set with their recent single called 'The Radio' the crowd loved the vibe of their music and were dancing along. They then played a few more of there tracks including 'Back to the Future' after every song the audience would give them a well deserved applause. To finish their set they played their new single called 'Tomorrow' which the audience really enjoyed. There sound was close to the likes of Two Door Cinema Club and really set the night up for the headline act.

After another small wait the audience were getting excited and even before Noah And The Whale had made an appearance they were screaming with excitement, which really made you feel how much the fans wanted to see them perform, Finally they took to the stage and opened their set with the song 'Give A Little Love' which sent the audience crazy they were screaming and clapping along with the music. After the first three songs of the set the lead singer Charlie Fink introduced themselves to rapturous applause. There was a really good atmosphere between the audience and the band and it seemed as though there was electricity in the room.

Half way through the set Noah And The Whale decided to play one of there most popular songs called '5 Years Time' with in the first couple of notes played on the guitar most of the audience already knew what song they were about to play and they went crazy and started jumping around with excitement. Mid way through the song Charlie Fink took the time to interact with the audience and introduce the band members consisting of, Tom Hobden on the keys and Fiddle, Matt Owens on the bass guitar, Fred Abbott on the guitar and keys and finally Michael Petulla on the drums.

After every name introduce the fans gave out a massive roar and a well deserved applause, the band then carried on with the rest of their set getting huge amounts of applause, when they got to their last song in there set which was 'L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N' they then told the crowd the somewhat obligatory line that this was the loudest venue they had been to on their tour and then told them that unfortunately this would have to be their last song for the night.

When Noah And the Whale left the stage the audience gave them a massive round of applause and a big cheer, but soon after the act came back out and did an encore of two songs which included, 'Old Joy' and 'The First Days Of Spring'. The audience really enjoyed the last two performances and were jumping around to the music and singing along. After the two songs had finished Noah And The Whale thanked the crowd for coming along and left the stage, the fans then started to make there way out of the venue after an awesome show which included amazing renditions of there hits coupled with beautiful lighting really ensured the audience got the best possible show.
