The Wombats announce major headline tour for January

tickets go on sale on Friday

news: Tuesday 31st August 2010

Quirky Liverpudlian trio The Wombats have confirmed a full UK tour following their earlier announced sold-out October tour dates.

The Wombats are about to return to Los Angeles to complete work on their second album with producer Rich Costey (Muse, Interpol, Franz Ferdinand) having already collaborated on the project with Jacknife Lee (U2, Snow Patrol, R.E.M.) and Eric Valentine (Queens of the Stone Age, Lostprophets). This time around the band have been eager to experiment with more leftfield ideas and a darker lyrical approach.

Their new single 'Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)' will be released on Monday 17th September on 14th Floor Records with the band's second album following towards the end of the year.

Following the release of their debut album 'The Wombats Proudly Present... A Guide To Love, Loss and Desperation', the band completed two sold-out UK tours which included a one-off headline show at London's Royal Albert Hall and a homecoming show at the 10,000 capacity Liverpool Echo Arena.

Their tour dates have been announced as follows:

Wed 12 January Spring & Airbrake, Belfast
Sat 15 January HMV Picture House, Edinburgh
