Red Stripe Music Award seeks emerging live talent

to win slots at festivals this summer

The Red Stripe Music Award, returns for the fourth year to offer emerging bands the opportunity to play hard and win big, securing slots at next summer's festivals including Brighton's The Great Escape.

The four month regional gig series will run from January to April 2010, across 30 of the country's live music venues showcasing acts from the grass roots music scene along the way.

Fender equipment and Merc clothing will also be up for grabs as well as some free consultancy with Arising Artist, a group of music industry professionals who advise on A&R, Promotion, Publicity, Marketing, Management and general business management.

Paul Brazier heads up the Red Stripe team and said, "The Red Stripe Music Award is about providing emerging artists with an appropriate platform to be heard, with support from partners that truly benefits each band."

The competition is open to bands who play any manner of music, utterly unbiased to trend or leaning, Red Stripe asks only that applicants are over 18 years old and perform original tracks with the heart and soul they deserve.

Bands can enter via www.redstripe.net where regular updates on the regional gigs, shortlists, finalists and special promotions will be made over the next 6 months.

Last year's winners was Ben Howard who has since toured Europe and America supporting Fink and Jason Mraz as well as playing a number of festivals including Lovebox, Glastonbury Festival and The Great Escape.
