A Victorian Fair for Tooting Tram & Social

Movember charity event

news: Tuesday 17th November 2009

In support of the excellent 'Movember' men's health charity, London act missdavinalee are set to host a gala party on Sunday 22nd November (aka Movember) from 3pm until 10pm at Tooting Tram & Social, London.

The event will have a line-up that includes missdavinalee, Bruised Beauties, Miss Annabel SingsÂ…, Regency, Whiskey and The Wilsons plus Infadels DJs.

Classic old-time pastimes intermingled with modern music and entertainment will be served up at A Victorian Fair with Mrs Miggins Pies (with ButterfingersÂ’ home-baked cakes), Sweeney Todd Barbers (aka Geo F Trumper*), a Tattoo Parlour with Roque Lopez, a Bearded Lady, a chance to get the Victorian London Look with professional hair and make-up artists Jenny and Holly plus fun and games with prizes a-plenty including Hook a Pigeon, Wii-ctorian Shooting Gallery, Flea Circus, Face-painting, Arm-wrestling Duels, Jumble Sale and lots, lots more.

Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for prostrate cancer.

Male guests are actively encouraged to take part in the pursuit of the hirsuite by growing their facial hair to help raise money for the Movember charity with members of the Handlebar Moustache Association on hand to judge the very best Fu Manchu's, Walrus' and Chevrons on offer. If facial hair isn't your thing then don't fear as ladies and clean-shaven men are equally welcome to come and take part in the authentic fair and donate to charity at this unique one-off event.

Entry is free with a charity bucket collecting donations at the venue.

* We inaccurately stated that GEO.F.Trumper was 'London's oldest and finest barbers', this was not a fact. Truefitt & Hill, established 1805, has been officially recognised by Guinness Book of World records in April 2000 as the oldest barbershop in the world. eGigs would like to apologize to any reader who was offended by this inaccuracy.
