Noah and the Whale announce Crisis Hidden Gig

in London on Wednesday 24th June

news: Wednesday 10th June 2009

Noah and the Whale will give a special intimate preview of their live show on Wednesday 24th June in central London as part of the 'Crisis Hidden Gigs' campaign. Prior to their appearance at Glastonbury the band will be previewing their new material to an intimate crowd. The exact location will remain 'hidden' until 24-hours before the gig, when a text or email will be sent to ticket holders.

The gig will be one of the first chances for fans to hear Noah and the Whale's new material live, as they have been in the studio recording since the beginning of the year. For many awaiting their Glastonbury performance this will be a preview of their new live style of show, which will not use a female vocal. They will also be playing their classic hits for fans as well.

The series of Crisis Hidden Gigs throughout May and June are an opportunity to see top acts in intimate, unusual spaces - making for a unique musical experience. By withholding details until the last minute, Crisis aims to raise awareness of the precarious situation facing hidden homeless people, who often don't know where they will end up each night and are often forced to move from place to place. Crisis has given a venue clue about the venue for this Noah and the Whale gig – revealing that it will be in a private studio of a popular arts venue in NW1.

Talking about the forthcoming performance, lead singer Charlie Fink said, "It is so exciting that we can confirm our hidden gig for Crisis. We are really looking forward to seeing our London fans again and warming up for Glastonbury with this very intimate gig, in one of our favourite venues, and for an extremely important cause. Crisis do some incredible work for hidden homeless people across the UK and we are very flattered to be asked to help them get their message across."

The Crisis Hidden Gigs campaign was officially launched by Hot Chip at Village Underground and forthcoming gigs include Pendulum and Zane Lowe on June 17th and The Magic Numbers on 22nd June.
