ABC will perform 'The Lexicon of Love' with the BBC Concert Orchestra

tickets on sale on Friday

news: Wednesday 4th February 2009

Eighties synthpop new wave band ABC have announced that they will be performing their debut album 'The Lexicon of Love' in its entirety. The album which features 'Poison Arrow' and 'The Look of Love' will be backed by the BBC Concert Orchestra and will be conducted by musician and composer Anne Dudley (who was the keyboard player and arranger on The Lexicon of Love).

Trevor Horn will introduce the show which will be held at London's Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday 8th April.

ABC 'kick-started' the Eighties with their own brand of pop for the 'new decade'. The band fronted by Martin Fry mixed dance floor finesse with a post-punk attitude and released their first single, 'Tears Are Not Enough', in the autumn of 1981. More hits followed in rapid succession. With Worldwide hits and six studio albums later; ABC demonstrate that even now 27 years on from 'The Lexicon Of Love', Martin Fry's song-writing and musicianship is still as contemporary as it was in the beginning.

Tickets will go on sale from 9am, Friday 6th February, and eGigs will have links for you to buy them then.
