Thankfully on this tour there were a few additions to their usual routine, which in the past usually consisted of the band with their instruments belting out all of the classic Quo tracks that we all have come to love and recognise.
This year, one additional touch to their live performance included volcanic sized screens hanging over the stage so that even the people right at the back of the arena would be able to have a visual experience, however that didnt detract from the real reason why Status Quo are so well liked, which is down to their music.
The setlist was very predictable, but lets be honest after forty years of doing what they do, its going to be difficult to be unpredictable. As per usual they had Caroline and The Wanderer in the opening part of their set, and saved Whatever You Want and Rockin All Over The World until the closing part of the set.
What can be said about this group that hasnt already been said in previous years? After all these years, they are still the masters of live music, and after seeing them this year, the mind boggles as to what they will do next year to make that top this current tour.
One pleasant surprise was the fact that they werent pushing their first ever Christmas single Its Christmas Time down their fans throats, in fact I dont think they mentioned it once, which made a pleasant change from the way most other bands try to promote their new single at every possible opportunity.
As always with Status Quo, you know that you are going to get a top notch live performance, and as the saying goes You pay your money, You take your choice, thankfully the fans that brought Status Quo tickets made the perfect choice!
