Gwen Stefani reveals that No Doubt will reform

for a tour in 2009

It's obviously a day for bands reforming. Californian new wave ska act No Doubt have revealed that they will be ending their five-year hiatus for a tour next year.

The news has been confirmed on an instant message conversation on their official website. The band, fronted by Gwen Stefani, have started work on their first album since 2001's 'Rock Steady' revealed Stefani, who added in the chat, "I think if we go out on tour it will inspire us to write. I need to see the fans out there."

It was revealed that the band plans to take to the road 'soon', and would continue writing and recording the album as they tour. The band's bassist Tony Kanal added, "I think playing the shows would make the studio time even better."

There were no other details revealed regarding the exact tour dates.
