Founded by Jeremy Gilley in 1999 to create an annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence with a fixed calendar date, the objective was achieved in 2001 when the United Nations General Assembly resolution (A/Res/55/282) was unanimously adopted by UN member states, formally establishing an annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence on the UN International Day of Peace, fixed in the global calendar as the 21st September Peace Day.
This year after the success of the inaugral concert with Corrine Bailey Rae, Marc Almond, Kate Nash, Yusuf (formerly Cat Stevens), James Morrison and Annie Lennox in 2007 at the Royal Albert Hall, Peace One Day returns with Annie Lennox, and Jude Law so confirmed for the line-up. There will also be a gala screening of Gilley's latest film 'A Day After Peace'.
Tickets for Peace One Day are now on sale with tickets ranging in price from £30 to £55, to buy tickets click here.
