headlining a special two-day event this summer

news: Friday 18th April 2008

Paul Weller and Girls Aloud are to headline a special two-day event this summer on the Isle Of Wight at Osborne House.

This 19th century English Heritage location is set in 1000 acres of lush greenery. Osborne House, situated on the north east of the Isle Of Wight, is one of the most popular tourist attractions on the island and English Heritage are delighted to be hosts.

"We are thrilled to be hosting such an exciting line-up this year," said Dean Pascall, English Heritage Head of Visitor Operations on the Isle of Wight, "Staging concerts in the grounds of important historic sites like Osborne House is a very immediate way of engaging people with their heritage as well as attracting a diverse audience, some of whom may never normally visit a historic property. We hope they will go away with lasting memories of a fantastic evening's music made even more special by the superb backdrop of Queen Victoria's magnificent island home."

The former leader of The Jam will play Osborne House on Saturday 26th July, with Girls Aloud following the next day. Tickets go on sale on Monday 21st April and eGigs will have links for you to buy them.
