O2 look to dream bookings

Oasis, Coldplay, and U2

news: Tuesday 15th January 2008

The O2 Arena's venue promoters have revealed to the press that they would like to have Oasis, Coldplay and U2 play summer concerts at the former Millennium Dome.

European Chief Executive of AEG, David Campbell has hinted the trio of acts would be among his "dream bookings" for the venue, and added that all three acts have been contacted about a possible set of dates or even a residency at the venue, according to press reports.

All three acts are expected to release new albums this year and the O2 arena is hoping it will be chosen as the venue to showcase the new material in London.

The O2 Arena is hoping to increase the reputation it's building for getting London's hot ticket acts. Madonna, Kylie, Prince, Take That, and the Spice Girls all played dates there and of course the venue also hosted Led Zeppelin's legendary reunion. American legends The Eagles have announced a four-night run in March.
