The press release read: "Larrikin Love have announced today (May 4th) that they have split up. The band would like to thank all their fans for their support and love over the last two years and assure them that all is amicable between the four members.
Further details of ongoing projects from all members will be announced in the fullness of time."
Consequently, the string of Transgressive Roadshows scheduled for next week have been cancelled. As well as Larrikin Love, Battles, Foals, Goodbooks and Polytechnic were all on the bill.
All dates except the Brighton date (12th May) have been cancelled, but the record label will reschedule the tour with a new headliner in the future.
The label said: It is with great regret that we announce not only the demise of Larrikin Love, but due to this fact, the cancellation of the Roadshows. It was a difficult decision, but without a headliner we weren't confident of bringing the full Transgressive live experience to you all.
Despite our best efforts, we could not persuade them to make these special gigs their farewell shows. Rest assured, we'll reschedule the dates with new headliners, probably for freshers in September. Full refunds are available from point of purchase."
