NME awards nominations announced

It's another one of those awards shows, and once again all that's new and cool in the world of new music are pitted against one another, until someone is recognised for being a little bit cooler than all the others.

It's the NME fashion Awards, and a whole line up of predictable bands have been nominated for this year's 'prestigious' awards ceremony.

The categories are Best British Band, Best International Band, Best Solo Artist, Best New Band, Best Live Band, Best Album, and some other rather pointless ones that we're not going to list because we weren't nominated for 'Best Website'. Which we feel is a gross injustice.

The nominations have been dominated by Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, The Killers, My Chemical Romance and Muse who all picked up four nominations each.

Oddly enough Babyshambles have made it into the Best Live Band category. Considering the amount of gigs they actually turned up for we really aren't sure if they deserve this nomination.

The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday March 1st at London's Hammersmith Palais. We probably won't be there - 'cos we're just not cool enough.
