Sway strolled onto the stage to the God Save The Queen anthem with his trademark union jack bandana over his face. The stage lighting was very dark and atmospheric, possibly deliberately to keep Sway in the shadows and also not to distract from his masterful supersonic - vitriolic - lyrics.
Sway certainly knows how to engage a crowd. He managed to keep everyone eating out of the palm of his hand with his no gimmicks brand of rap music, just himself and his DJ, no fancy pyros or stage antics - just pure raw rap music performed how it should be done.
Armed with quick-wit and shit loads of intelligence, songs such as Flo-Fashion - which covers the subject of credit card debt - struck a card with the audience. Sway came across as being one of us normal folks talking about real life subjects that effect most people at some point.
Sway even demonstrated his free-styling skills by asking the audience to give him subjects to talk about. The audience shouted out John Prescott, Tony Blair and a child with chicken pox to turn into a rap. Sure enough he managed it with such ease that quite possibly we are witnessing the emergence of one of raps finest artistes.
Sway Dasafo is an incredible rap artiste - this is one of those occasions where you can believe the hype!!!
